Walk on the Side of Righteousness Daily Reflection and Prayer Thursday July 17th 2025
Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

This passage challenges us to examine the way we love others—not just in feeling, but in behavior. Love here isn’t described as a fleeting emotion, but as a consistent, deliberate way of living. It’s patient even when others frustrate us. It’s kind even when it’s not returned.
These verses show that true love is selfless and enduring. It doesn’t seek personal gain, it refuses to keep score, and it endures through hardship. Reflecting on this, we might ask ourselves. Am I loving others unconditionally, or only when it’s easy or convenient? Do I forgive quickly and fully, or do I hold on to past wrongs? How can I love like this in my family, work, or church community?
Choose one specific trait from this passage (e.g., patience, kindness, not keeping a record of wrongs) and intentionally practice it today. For example; If you struggle with impatience, pause and listen fully before responding. If you find it hard to forgive, write a note (or say a prayer) of release and grace.
Prayer:
God, thank You for showing us what true love looks like through Your Son. Teach me to love with patience, with kindness, and without conditions. Help me let go of pride, anger, and bitterness, and instead choose forgiveness and truth. Let my actions reflect Your heart, even when it’s hard. Today, may I be a vessel of Your love in someone else’s life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
