Walk on the Side of Righteousness Daily Reflection and Prayer Sunday July 13th 2025

Mark 2:27-28 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

In Mark 2:27-28, Jesus reminds us that “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” This passage highlights the importance of rest and the purpose behind the Sabbath. It’s a time meant to restore us physically, mentally, and spiritually, not a burden to weigh us down. Jesus, as Lord of the Sabbath, shows us that true rest is found in Him, and that He has authority over our time and our lives. This challenges us to rethink how we approach rest and work, ensuring that we honor God by caring for ourselves and others.

This week, set aside intentional time for rest and reflection. Use this time not just to relax, but to connect with God—through prayer, reading Scripture, or simply being still in His presence. Consider how your routine either honors or neglects the balance between work and rest, and make adjustments that allow for Sabbath moments in your life. Share this concept with someone who might feel overwhelmed by their responsibilities.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that the Sabbath was made for my good. Help me to embrace the rest You offer, and to trust in Your lordship over every part of my life. Teach me to find balance, to rest in You, and to live each day in a way that honors Your design for work and rest. May I experience Your peace and renewal every day. Amen.
