The First Sunday of Advent, Sunday November 30, 2025
Jeremiah 23:5 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
This verse is a powerful prophecy about the coming of Christ, the promised Messiah who would arise from the lineage of David. It speaks of a time when justice, righteousness, and wise leadership will be established through Him. Christ, as the righteous Branch, brings hope to a world longing for peace, justice, and restoration. His reign is not merely political but spiritual, offering salvation and new life to all who believe. This promise encourages believers to hold on to hope, trusting in God’s faithfulness to fulfill His word.
Lord God,
Thank You for the promise that You will raise up a righteous Branch for David. We trust in Your faithfulness and the coming of Your Kingdom where justice, wisdom, and righteousness will reign. Help us to live in hope and align our hearts with Your will, seeking Your justice and mercy every day. Strengthen our faith as we await the fulfillment of Your promise through Jesus Christ, our King.
