The Peace of the Finished Work Sunday March 1st 2026

Scripture
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” — Psalm 46:10
Reflection
The invitation to “Be still” is really an invitation to exhale. For most of us, our default mode is “do.” We try to do enough, be enough, and fix enough to keep our world upright. But on this Sunday, we remember that we are not the ones holding it all together. This is a “Little Easter”—a day to remember that the most important moment in history happened while the world was quiet. The stone was rolled away not by human hands, but by the power of a God who had already won.
To “know that I am God” is to find the courage to finally surrender yourself—your worries, your messy parts, your “to-do” lists, and your fears—into the hands of the One who loves you. When we slacken our grip and let our hands fall to our sides, we aren’t giving up; we are giving in to a love that is stronger than our struggle. Today, you don’t have to prove anything. You can be still because the work is already finished. He is God, He is exalted, and You are safe.
Prayer
Lord, today I bring You the only thing I have to give: myself. I surrender my need to be the one in charge. I’m tired of trying to outrun my worries and outwork my fears. On this Sunday, I choose to be still and simply be Your child.
I “know” today that You are God. I see Your hand in the sunrise and Your grace in my breathing. I unclench my spirit from the pressure to perform and I fall back into Your sovereignty. Thank You for the empty tomb that reminds me I don’t have to carry the weight of the world—You already did. I am still, I am Yours, and I am at peace. Amen.
