Steady in the Stream Sunday March 15th

Scripture

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”Isaiah 43:2

Reflection

The road of Lent often feels like a trek through rising tides. We’ve spent this week practicing the Strength of Humility, which often means admitting that the “rivers” of life are sometimes too deep for us to cross on our own. But humility isn’t just about acknowledging the water; it’s about acknowledging the One standing in it with us.

Today, on this “Little Easter,” we pause to realize that we aren’t being swept away. The peace we feel today isn’t because the water has disappeared, but because we are no longer fighting the current with our own strength. When you lower yourself—down-to-earth and close to the water—you find that God is already there. Take this day to rest in the assurance that you are held, you are safe, and you are not crossing this season alone.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the promise that I am never alone in the deep places. Forgive me for the times I’ve panicked, thinking the river would sweep me over. Today, I choose to rest in Your presence. Thank You for being the steady ground beneath my feet and the peace in my heart. Refresh me today as I prepare for the road ahead. Amen.
