Day 7 of Lent – Wednesday March 12th 2025
Ephesians 5: 1-2 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
John 15: 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Matthew 22: 34-40 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Day 8 Reflection – Walking in Love

Day 8 invites us to reflect on what it truly means to walk in love. Love is not just a feeling; it’s an action, a choice, and a way of life that mirrors the sacrificial love of Christ. In Ephesians 5:2, Paul reminds us, “Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Walking in love challenges us to go beyond ourselves and embrace those around us with compassion, patience, and forgiveness. It’s easy to love when things are simple, but the true test comes in moments of difficulty—when we must extend grace to those who may not deserve it or choose kindness when it’s inconvenient.
Today, consider how you can embody love in your daily actions. Who is God calling you to serve, forgive, or encourage? Reflect on how Christ’s love transforms your heart and empowers you to share that love with others.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for showing us the perfect example of love through Your Son, Jesus. Teach me to walk in love every day, especially when it’s hard. Help me to reflect Your grace and kindness to those around me, so they may see Your love through my actions. Amen.
Action Step:
Identify one person in your life who could use an extra measure of love this week. Reach out to them with a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear. Let your actions speak of God’s love working through you.
