Eastertide Day 27 Friday May 16 2025

John 14: 1-6 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

In this passage, Jesus offers words of comfort to His disciples, reminding them to trust in God and in Him. He assures them that He is preparing a place for them and that He is the way, the truth, and the life. During Eastertide, as we celebrate the resurrection, we cling to this promise of eternal life and the assurance that through Jesus, we have access to the Father. This is a season of hope and renewal, a time to deepen our faith in Christ’s redemptive power and to trust in His guidance.

As we meditate on these words, we are reminded that Jesus is the path to peace and salvation. In moments of doubt or despair, His promise to be our way, our truth, and our life anchors us. Eastertide calls us to live in the light of that promise, walking in faith and sharing the hope of resurrection with others.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life. In You, we find our path, our purpose, and our peace. During this Eastertide, help us to trust in Your promises and to rest in the knowledge that You have prepared a place for us. Strengthen our faith and guide us as we walk in Your light. May we reflect Your love and hope to the world, living as witnesses to the power of Your resurrection.
Amen.
