Eastertide Day 10 Tuesday April 29 2025
John : 7-17 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.
10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

In this passage, Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about the necessity of being “born again” through the Spirit. He emphasizes that this rebirth is not a physical act, but a spiritual transformation brought about by faith in God’s saving grace. Jesus reveals God’s profound love for the world, expressed through the sending of His Son, not to condemn, but to save. It is a call to believe in Him and receive eternal life, a reminder of the hope and redemption offered to all through Jesus’ sacrifice.
As we journey through Eastertide, this passage invites us to reflect on the new life we have in Christ. The resurrection assures us that God’s love is victorious over sin and death. We are called to live as people who have been transformed, bearing witness to the light and truth of the Gospel. Let this be a time to renew our faith and embrace the grace that Jesus extends to us.
Prayer: Loving God: Thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who came not to condemn the world, but to save it. In this Eastertide season, we rejoice in the new life You offer through His resurrection. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may be born again, transformed by Your grace and love. Help us to live as witnesses to Your light, sharing the hope and joy of salvation with all we meet. Strengthen our faith, and guide us to trust in Your promises each day.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
