Day 17 of Lent Monday March 9th

Scripture
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
Reflection
Coming off the weekend can feel like a jolt, but for many of us, the “rest” of Sunday was actually spent in service to others—working shifts, caring for family, or keeping the world moving. Whether your Monday is the start of a new work week or finally a moment to catch your breath, the spiritual challenge is the same: carrying the “Little Easter” joy into the labor of our hands.
Endurance isn’t just about how we act when we are resting; it’s about the spirit we bring to our tasks. If yesterday was a day of work for you, know that your service is seen. If today is the day you return to the grind, remember that you aren’t just “getting through” the day. You are walking a path where every interaction and every task is an opportunity to reflect the light. We don’t just find God in the quiet moments of an oasis; we find Him in the strength He gives us to do our work with a grateful heart.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the dignity of work and the gift of service. Whether I am starting my week or continuing a long stretch of labor, give me a renewed spirit. For those who worked through the weekend, grant them a deep, internal rest today. For those starting their commute, give them a purposeful heart. Be the strength in our hands and the peace in our minds. Amen.
