Day 33

Day 33 of Lent Friday March 27th

Scripture

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”John 15:13 (NIV)

Reflection

On this 33rd day, we reach the heart of why we follow The Path to the Cross. It is a journey of ultimate love. As Friday arrives, we are reminded that Jesus did not go to the cross out of obligation, but out of a devotion so strong that he was willing to give everything for us. He calls us his friends and shows us what true sacrifice looks like.

Laying down your life doesn’t always happen in one big moment; for most of us, it happens in the small ways we serve others every day. It is laying down your own schedule to help a neighbor, laying down your pride to apologize first, or laying down your personal time to support your family. This Friday, look for the opportunities to put someone else’s needs above your own. When you act out of love rather than duty, you are walking the very same path that Jesus walked.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I thank You for the 33 days I have completed. Most of all, I thank You for the “greater love” You showed by laying down Your life for me. Help me to be a true friend to others today. Give me the grace to be selfless in my work and in my home, putting love into action in everything I do. I am honored to follow You. Amen.
