Day 22

Day 22 of Lent Saturday March 14th

Scripture

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”Hebrews 4:16

Reflection

The world often equates asking for help with weakness. We are taught to “pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps” and figure it out. But on a long journey, self-sufficiency is a lie that eventually becomes a trap. True humility is the courage to say, “I am not strong enough for this on my own.”

Asking for help is the definitive act of The Strength of Humility. It requires us to abandon our pride and approach the “throne of grace” with confidence. In the Bible, those who asked for help—the blind man crying out, the woman reaching for a cloak—were not labeled weak; they were praised for their faith. When we admit our need, we are not failing; we are unlocking the mercy and finding the grace that is already there, just waiting for us to ask. Today, instead of struggling through your limitations, find the strength to ask for help, both from God and from those who support you on this journey.

Prayer

Lord, I confess that I often choose prideful struggles over humble questions. I try to carry the entire load myself. Forgive me. Today, I humble myself enough to ask for help. I approach You with confidence, asking for the specific wisdom, comfort, and strength I need for this day. Thank You for Your mercy that never runs out. Amen.
