Day 19 of Lent Wednesday March 11th
Scripture

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” — 1 Peter 5:6
Reflection
We often mistake humility for weakness, thinking it means staying small or staying back. But in the context of a long journey, humility is actually a profound form of strength. It is the courage to admit we don’t have all the answers and the wisdom to realize we cannot walk this road entirely on our own.
As we begin Week 4, the “Strength of Humility” asks us to let go of the need to be the hero of our own story. It’s about walking with an open hand instead of a clenched fist. When we humble ourselves, we aren’t being pushed down; we are being positioned to be lifted up by a strength far greater than our own. Today, as you navigate your tasks and your fast, try to trade “self-reliance” for “God-reliance.” There is immense power in simply saying, “I can’t, but You can.”
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the start of this new week. Help me to understand that true strength is found in humility. Soften my heart where it has become hardened by pride or self-sufficiency. Teach me to walk this path with a spirit that is open to Your leading and dependent on Your grace. Amen.
