Day 14 of Lent Thursday March 5th 2026

Scripture
“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.” — Proverbs 4:25-26
Reflection
Endurance is rarely about a heroic, one-time effort. More often, it is found in the quiet decision to keep going once the initial solemnity of the season has settled into a daily routine. By Day 14, the profound silence of Ash Wednesday has met the noise of everyday life. The finish line of Easter is still weeks away, and the middle of the journey can sometimes feel like a slow climb.
Today is about the “middle miles.” If you feel overwhelmed by the big picture, look down at your feet. What is the one small thing God is asking of you today? Maybe it’s a moment of patience, a few minutes of quiet prayer, or simply choosing to be present in your current task. When we focus on the path immediately before us, the journey becomes manageable. God doesn’t give us grace for next week; He gives us exactly what we need for the step we are taking right now.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for meeting me exactly where I am. When the road feels long and the destination feels far, help me to focus on the present moment. Give me the clarity to see the small steps You have placed before me today. Whether I am moving with energy or just stepping forward in faith, let me rest in the knowledge that You are directing my path. Amen.
