Day 31 of Lent April 9th 2025

Psalms 37: 7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

James 5: 7-9 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

Day 31 of Lent – Patience

During this Lenten season, we are reminded of the value of patience—not just as a virtue, but as a practice that aligns our hearts with God’s timing. Patience allows us to release control and trust in the Lord’s plan, even when the world around us feels chaotic or uncertain. Lent is a time of waiting and preparing, just as Jesus waited in the wilderness. It is in the stillness of patience that we grow closer to Him, learning to rely fully on His divine wisdom and grace.

When we feel overwhelmed or frustrated, let us call upon God for the strength to endure with grace. Patience allows us to respond with love, understanding, and compassion, even when faced with trials.

Consider moments in your life where impatience has clouded your ability to see God’s work. Are there situations where waiting has brought unexpected blessings? Embrace these reflections and allow them to guide your journey of faith.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me the beauty of patience during this Lenten season. Help me to trust in Your timing and to find peace in the waiting. When I feel restless or discouraged, remind me of Your steadfast love and unwavering presence. May I grow in faith and understanding as I surrender my anxieties to You. Grant me the grace to be still and know that You are God.
Amen.
