Day 12 of Lent Tuesday March 18 2025
Matthew 6: 19-21 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Colossians 3: 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Day 12 Reflection – Treasures

Lent is a time to examine where our hearts truly lie. Are we seeking fleeting worldly possessions or eternal treasures that align with God’s Kingdom? Worldly treasures—wealth, status, and material comforts—may bring temporary satisfaction but leave our souls unfulfilled. Heavenly treasures—faith, love, generosity, and a relationship with God—endure forever and bring true peace. Consider the priorities in your life today. Are you clinging to things that will fade, or are you investing in what will last for eternity?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to focus on what truly matters. Teach me to let go of my attachment to worldly possessions and to seek the treasures of Your Kingdom. Purify my heart so that my desires align with Your will. May my life reflect generosity, love, and faithfulness as I store up treasures in heaven. Amen.
