Thursday October 9th – Unconditional Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

This passage beautifully captures the essence of true love. It challenges us to embody patience and kindness, to move beyond selfish desires and anger, and to embrace forgiveness and truth. Love, as described here, is active and enduring—it protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres even in difficult times. Reflecting on these verses invites us to examine how we love others and ourselves, urging us to cultivate a love that mirrors the unconditional and sacrificial love God shows to us.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to love as You love—patiently, kindly, and without pride. Teach me to let go of envy, anger, and resentment, and to embrace forgiveness and humility. May my love be genuine, always seeking the good of others above my own desires. Strengthen me to protect, trust, hope, and persevere in love, even when it is challenging. Fill my heart with Your grace so that I may reflect Your love in all my relationships.
Amen.
