Day 32

Day 32 of Lent Thursday March 26th

Scripture

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’”Matthew 16:24 (NIV)

Reflection

On this 32nd day, we face the heart of the Lenten journey. To follow Jesus on the path to the cross, we must be willing to set aside our own comforts and our own way of doing things. This is not just about the small sacrifices we made at the beginning of Lent; it is about a daily decision to put His will above our own.

Taking up your cross means being faithful to your commitments even when they are difficult. It means choosing patience when you are frustrated at work, showing grace when you feel slighted, and staying disciplined in your prayer life. Following Him is a deliberate act of the will. Today, don’t look at your responsibilities as a burden, but as the path He has laid out for you. When you deny your own distractions and focus on Him, you find the true strength that only comes from being His disciple.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I thank You for the 32 days of this journey. Today, I choose to take up my cross and follow You. Give me the grace to deny my own selfish desires and to focus entirely on Your path. Help me to be a faithful disciple in my home, my work, and my heart. I trust You to lead me all the way to the joy of Easter. Amen.
