Day 25 of Lent Wednesday March 18th

Scripture
“As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.” — Luke 9:51
Reflection
On this 25th day of Lent, we enter the home stretch known as Passiontide. The tone of our journey changes today. We move from the “how” of our discipline to the “Who” of our devotion. This scripture shows us Jesus at a turning point: He knew exactly what lay ahead in Jerusalem—the struggle, the cross, and the victory—and He “resolutely set out.”
This is the ultimate “Second Wind.” It isn’t a burst of accidental energy; it is a firm, quiet decision to finish what was started. As you begin this fifth week, you may feel the weight of your responsibilities or the fatigue of the season. Take courage from Christ’s resolve. To be “resolute” means to have a heart that is made up. Today, let’s stop debating our commitments and simply walk them out. Whether in your work, your household tasks, or your prayers, set your face toward the finish line. You are walking a path that has already been paved with a love that would not turn back.
Prayer
Lord, as we enter these final weeks of Lent, give us the same resolve we see in Your Son. When the road ahead looks steep or our energy feels low, help us to “set our faces” toward the goal. Thank You for the strength that comes from focus and the peace that comes from a decided heart. May we walk through this 25th day with a steady stride, following closely behind the One who went before us. Amen.
