Day 21 of Lent Friday March 13th

Scripture
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” — Philippians 2:9-10
Reflection
The most natural and ancient expression of humility is to lower oneself. In the presence of something vast, sacred, and holy, our self-importance evaporates. We recognize that we are not the center of the universe.
When we physically bow, we are engaging in the Strength of Humility. This isn’t a passive surrender; it is an active submission of our strength and our ego to a higher authority. In prayer, we acknowledge that our intelligence is not sufficient to guide us, and our endurance is not sufficient to sustain us. Today, as you encounter challenges, try a different approach: don’t double down on your own efforts. In your heart, or even physically, find a moment to simply stop, lower your head, and bend your knee. True strength begins when we kneel.
Prayer
Lord, I submit myself to You. I confess that I have relied on my own plans and power for too long. Forgive my pride. I lay down my defenses and my need to control. Today, I humble myself, bending my knee in submission, trusting that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Guide my steps. Amen.
