Rest and Joy – Sunday Feburary 22nd 2026

Scripture

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”Psalm 118:24

Reflection

If you’ve been following along this week, you’ve been practicing the difficult work of being still. You’ve closed the door, you’ve listened for the whisper, and you’ve climbed the metaphorical mountain. But today, the rhythm changes.

In the Lenten tradition, Sundays are a “breath.” They are a reminder that the wilderness doesn’t last forever and that the story ultimately ends in Resurrection. Today isn’t about the “struggle” of silence; it’s about the gratitude found in it. When we quiet the noise of the world, we don’t just find empty space—we find a God who delights in us.

Today, take the peace you found in the quiet and let it turn into joy. Enjoy a meal, spend time with people you love, and let your soul rest deeply. The “Return to God” isn’t just a somber walk; it’s a journey toward the ultimate celebration.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for this “Little Easter.” Thank You for the gift of rest and the reminder that Your grace is a feast, not a chore. As I take a break from my Lenten fast today, let my heart be full of gratitude. Help me to carry the peace I found in this week’s silence into today’s joy. Amen.
