Saturday October 25th – The Greatest Commandments of All

Mark 12:30-31 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

In these verses, Jesus emphasizes the greatest commandments: to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. This teaching calls us to a wholehearted devotion to God that permeates every aspect of our being. Loving God fully means prioritizing our relationship with Him above all else, allowing His love to transform our hearts. Equally important is the call to love others genuinely and selflessly, recognizing that our love for God is reflected in how we treat those around us. These commandments remind us that faith is not just about belief but about living out love in action, fostering compassion, kindness, and justice in our daily lives.

Prayer
Lord God, help me to love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. Teach me to put You first in every part of my life and to seek Your will above my own desires. Fill my heart with Your love so that it overflows to those around me. Give me the grace to love my neighbors as myself, showing kindness, patience, and understanding. May Your love be the foundation of all my actions and relationships. Strengthen me to live out these commandments daily, reflecting Your love in all I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
