John 16: 12-13 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
During Eastertide, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the new life it brings. In this passage, Jesus prepares His disciples for a time when He will no longer be physically present with them. He promises the coming of the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, who will guide them into all truth and reveal what is to come. This assurance invites us to trust in the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our own lives, especially as we navigate uncertainties and seek deeper understanding. Just as the disciples were called to trust beyond what they could immediately grasp, we too are invited to open our hearts to the Spirit’s wisdom and direction.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide me into all truth.
Help me to listen with an open heart and mind,
Especially when the path ahead is unclear.
Fill me with your wisdom and courage,
That I may follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ.
Reveal to me the things I need to know for this moment,
And prepare me for what is yet to come.
Amen.
