Eastertide Day 11 Wednesday April 30 2025

John 3: 16-21 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

In this passage, we are reminded of God’s boundless love for humanity. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.” This verse serves as the cornerstone of our faith, emphasizing the sacrificial love of God and His desire for us to live in communion with Him. During Eastertide, we are invited to meditate on the resurrection of Christ, which is the ultimate expression of this love and the fulfillment of God’s promise of eternal life.

The following verses remind us of the contrast between light and darkness. Jesus, the light of the world, came to dispel the darkness of sin and invite us into a life of truth and righteousness. Yet, it is up to us to accept this light and walk in it. As we reflect during this Easter season, we are called to examine our lives: Are we living as children of the light? Are we embracing the truth of the Gospel in our actions and choices?

God’s love is not condemning but liberating. He seeks to save, not to judge, and invites us into a relationship of grace and mercy. Let this be a time to recommit ourselves to living in the light of Christ, sharing His love with others, and bearing witness to the transformative power of the resurrection.

Prayer: Gracious and loving God,
We thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ,
Who came into the world to save us and lead us into eternal life.
Help us to embrace the light of His truth and walk in His ways.
During this Eastertide, may Your love be a source of strength and renewal in our hearts.
Grant us the courage to turn away from the darkness of sin
And to live as faithful witnesses of Your resurrection.
Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may share Your love with all we encounter
And glorify Your name in all that we do.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
