Easter Sunday 2025 – He has Risen
Matthew 28: 5-6 “The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.’”

Easter Sunday is the triumphant celebration of Jesus’ victory over death. The empty tomb is a powerful reminder that the grave could not hold Him. Through His resurrection, Jesus has brought us the hope of eternal life and reconciliation with God. This day is a call to rejoice in the promise of new beginnings and the assurance that nothing is impossible with God. Just as the angel proclaimed to the women at the tomb, we too are invited to come and see the evidence of His power and love. Let this truth fill our hearts with gratitude and joy as we walk in the light of His resurrection.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we praise You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who has conquered death and brought us the hope of eternal life. Thank You for the power of the resurrection that reminds us of Your unending love and faithfulness. Help us to live as people of the risen Christ, filled with joy, peace, and the assurance that You are always with us. Strengthen our faith and guide us to share the good news of Your victory with others. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
He Has Risen

At its core, the resurrection is a testimony to the power of God over sin and death. It serves as a beacon of hope, affirming that life does not end in despair or the grave but is renewed and restored through God’s boundless love and grace. This act of rising from the dead is a declaration that death is not the ultimate end; instead, it is a passage to eternal life for those who believe.
On a personal level, the resurrection invites individuals to confront their own mortality, fears, and brokenness. It challenges believers to die to their old selves—their sins, doubts, and failures—and rise into a new life of purpose, forgiveness, and redemption. In Jesus’ triumph over the grave, there is an assurance that even in moments of deepest suffering or loss, there is the promise of renewal and restoration.
Furthermore, this event underscores the faithfulness of God. Jesus’ resurrection fulfilled the prophecies of old and validated His teachings, emphasizing that God’s promises are not empty but are rooted in truth and power. It calls believers to trust in the unseen, to walk by faith, and to live with an eternal perspective, knowing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work within them.
Reflecting on the resurrection also compels one to consider the communal implications. It unites believers forming the basis of the Church and its mission. The resurrection is not just a personal victory; it is an invitation to participate in the restoration of the world, bringing the message of hope, love, and reconciliation to all creation.
In a world often marked by despair and uncertainty, the resurrection of Jesus serves as a profound reminder of the enduring power of hope. It inspires a life of courage, purpose, and unwavering trust in God’s ultimate plan. To reflect deeply on the resurrection is to embrace the truth that out of darkness comes light, out of despair comes joy, and out of death comes life eternal.
Rejoice and live a life guided by love, compassion, humility, and service to others. Follow His teachings, forgiving those who wrong us, and seeking peace in our relationships. Jesus calls us to love God with all our hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This includes helping the poor, comforting the brokenhearted, and standing up for justice and truth. By walking in His footsteps, we demonstrate our faith and bring His light into the world.
